A Heat Of The Moment Thing

Gary, with a stricken look, tried to help. It only made things worse. The headscarf, hooked on my finger, shifted floorward, then skyward, before collapsing with ballerina grace in my hands. I stared in dismay at the mess of fabric. I scrambled for my headscarf, curse the sodding thing, and wheeled away, consumed by full-body flaming shame.

The receptionist leapt out of her chair. Would you like some pins?

in the heat of the moment

Damn this rotten scarf. And damn me for swimming into the end of the freaking pool. When I returned, headscarf secured to hurricane-proof standards, Gary took me on the grand tour of Tourism and Travel. Nervous anticipation fluttered in my belly, only partly due to the scarf. Could I make it work? Gary stopped and opened a door with a flourish. I walked over to the window. Lush lines of oak trees and a green expanse of park stared back up at me. Pleasure swelled in my chest.

As far as London views went, this was pretty damn good. My fingers strayed yet again to my headscarf. Gary turned and led me in the other direction. We reached the kitchenette. The way Becky left it all behind, to me, felt a little selfish I wanted her to fight harder.

A Heat of the Moment Thing

However, after the way she changed and grew as a person while being away from London in the end it was the best thing for her. It gave her time to find out who she is; which couldn't hurt anyone. A great read; thank you Maggie for the opportunity to review your book! Wow and Wow I rather enjoyed reading this book a lot and now that i finished the story I'm really hoping for another one to leading to what happens after Becky and Matt get together again.

I got upset when Becky was upset I felt like i was living it with her, right down to the part I thought the bus crash was the end. I really enjoyed the times that Becky and Matt all most had the sex encounters I was on the edge of my chair just waiting for it to happen and then when it didn't I was bummed but Wow and Wow I rather enjoyed reading this book a lot and now that i finished the story I'm really hoping for another one to leading to what happens after Becky and Matt get together again.

I really enjoyed the times that Becky and Matt all most had the sex encounters I was on the edge of my chair just waiting for it to happen and then when it didn't I was bummed but when it did finally happen I was so shocked and excited for more I didn't want to put the book down it was that good. I didn't like that fact about her sister slapping her that gave her no right but in the long run I'm sure everyone can relate someway to Becky.

Maggie did an awesome job writing this book it was sad, funny and had a dangerous side to it that was great I'm looking forward to read more by Maggie. I found myself loving that Becky had a a guy roommate who to me was down right funny I laughed at all the things he said to Becky, Matt was great loved that he had a nice caring heart didn't like that he wouldn't listen to Becky in Dublin glad they got over it in the end!! Charles what a joke like he comes out of no where and just ruins Becky's life well the good parts she had going for her and for what nothing!!

May 27, Renee Rain rated it really liked it. I immediately took to Becky and her almost comical way of looking at life. She is fairly insecure and seems to be a little impulsive at times. She gets herself into situations that make you want to laugh and feel bad for her at the same time. The incident at the pool had me thinking that she was going to die, get amnesia or maybe the story was starting at the end- but it was actually a great way to initi A Heat Of The Moment Thing by Maggie Le Page is a nice change from the average romance novel!

Then starting new job just days later and finding that her hero Mr. Chocolate voice is her new boss Matt- just perfect! I love the interactions that the characters have with each other. Their conversations and arguments let each personality show and I love when an author is able to give distinct personalities and keep them clear. For example Dani is completely different from Becky and reminds me of a sassy character from Sex in the City. Now for the romance part, Maggie Le Page has a way of stirring emotions which give more life to the story.

Things get warm, dead cold, then steaming hot. At the end, Becky gets her man? This is definitely a page turner that I would recommend to be read. A gorgeous, charming man saves her life. Even though she wants to see him again, the last place she expects to see him is at her new dream job…as her new boss. Been there, done that. In an attempt to forget about the obvious chemistry between them, Becky finds a guy to distract her, but this lea In A Heat of the Moment Thing by Maggie Le Page, Becky Jordan experiences an embarrassing near-death incident.

In an attempt to forget about the obvious chemistry between them, Becky finds a guy to distract her, but this leads to unforeseen consequences that will ultimately have a huge impact on her life. This book was equally amusing and heartwarming. There were hysterical moments where I was literally laughing out loud and other touching moments where my heart did a little pitter-patter.

While the last quarter of the book seemed a little slow-paced and the ending seemed abrupt, the rest of the book was borderline perfect. The plot was entertaining and the characters were unforgettable. And the absolute best part was the romance between Becky and Matt. It was believable and incredibly sweet. While romance is definitely prominent in this story, A Heat of the Moment Thing is also about a woman finding herself and learning to follow her heart. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and cannot wait to read more from this talented author.

Reviewed by ME for Readers' Favorite This is the story of Becky--a girl just like any other girl who is self-conscious about her hair, has a quirky flatmate, is starting a new job, is clumsy at times, and who has been hurt in the past. Just about everything that can happen, happens to this girl in no particular order: The characters are very real and have real problems. Matt is an incredible hero figure who I absolutely loved. I wished that Becky and Matt would have come right out and had conversations about dating, commitment, their pasts, etc.

Would have saved them a lot of trouble, but then we wouldn't have much of a story, now would we? Overall, a well-written debut. Very simple writing, but in a witty way. I will be keeping an eye out for Maggie's next book! Copy of the book provided in exchange for an honest review I have just one word to describe Maggie's book: When I first started reading it I honestly thought it was going to be like every otger chick lit book, but I was so mistaken.

It's funny, it's romantic and it has a lot of relatable situations. I, too, work at an office, and I, like Becky, have to face awkward situations and meet deadlines and deal with hot guys. Maggie does an extraordinary job describing them all. She doesn't use complicated words and her writing is for everyone.

A Heat of the Moment Thing - Maggie Le Page

The onl I have just one word to describe Maggie's book: The only three things I didn't like very much were these: I guess there are a lot af situations that could've been avoided so the book would be shorter. The third and final thing was the ending. We all know that the main characters are gonna end up together no matter what that's the beauty of chick lit but this one was very rush.

In spite of these three things, I loved the book so much because it has just the right amount of everything and I had to stay awake till three or four in the morning just so I could read more of it. Plus Maggie herself is very nice and sweet. This book is a must-read, must-buy and must-recommend. If this doesn't become a best seller, the world doesn't make sense, then. May 30, Yvonne Sarah Lewis rated it it was amazing. Becky Jordan has an accident in the swimming pool and is rescued by a chocolate-voiced dish of a man.

She starts her new job as a travel lecturer and discovers her boss is… Guess who? I knew from the first page that here is someone who can write. I was immediately interested in Beck Becky Jordan has an accident in the swimming pool and is rescued by a chocolate-voiced dish of a man.

A Heat Of The Moment Thing

I was immediately interested in Becky; I cared about her. I was amazed how quickly this was achieved. The incident in the pool is clever: Maggie Le Page shows sensitivity and understanding of the way people think and behave. I really wanted to find out what happened next. Surprises, shocks, the pain of love gone awry. The writer cares for her characters, and so do I.

I wanted to know what happened next, for them to be all right and happy. It was funny, witty and well written. It kind of reminded me of the Shopaholic series by Sophia Kinsella, and that's high praise! What I liked best about the book was that the characters were real. You saw them suffer through normal, everyday problems and true life situations. We can actually see how the main character grows in a a personal way before the conclusion of the book and I find that this was one of the things that I really enjoyed.

It is not a meet, fall in love, HEA kind of book.

Idiom of the Day

It is a meet in a really funny way , interact, deal with real issues in a really funny way: The only thing that I didn't like was that we don't actually see the relationship progress. I love books where we as a reader fall in love with the characters as they fall in love with themselves and can actually be part of the love story. This is not one of those. There is interaction between the characters but not deep enough for you see them falling in love. Sep 26, Becky Monson rated it it was amazing. Remember that feeling when a relationship is new? The butterflies in your stomach, the zing you get with every touch whether accidental or intentional?

This book gives you those feelings. I'll admit it took me a bit to get into the story, but it wasn't long until I was sucked in and could not put it down. In fact, I ignored my family and home and just read. It was a fabulous escape. The characters were well defined and the blossoming feelings between reluctant Becky she'd been screwed over in a Remember that feeling when a relationship is new?

The characters were well defined and the blossoming feelings between reluctant Becky she'd been screwed over in an office romance before and her hot boss Matt, were exciting and filled with so many zing moments that I had to go back and reread a couple just so I could feel the zings again. This book, unlike most chick lit, was not predictable.

It took a turn that I wasn't expecting and kept going with it, yet it gave me the ending I wanted. Can't wait to read more from Ms. She has her goals, even if they are completely sidetracked by her libido and misadventure. It begins when she is briefly hospitalized after nearly drowning in her local public pool. Her rescuer turns out to a dreamboat, and none other than her new boss.

Unfortunately, there are two other men who complicate her love life, one a scoundrel who seduces her, and the other, a co-worker with lecherous intentions.

In the end, Becky has no choice but to run away from it all. It's at this point she truly discovers who she is. A happy ending followed. Maggie le Page writes in a fluid humorous style, and describes the London of Becky's world beautifully. Her characters leap off the page, and the story has enough momentum to keep you turning pages. May 07, Glynis Astie rated it it was amazing. I immediately bought the book and jumped in with both feet.

Becky is an engaging heroine, quickly whisking us into her complicated world of relationship baggage along with career aspirations, all the while coveting her gorgeous boss, Matt. I was so engrossed in their story that my Kindle came with me everywhere I went for two days, on the off chance that I would have five minutes to spare. Did I mention that my house was a mess and my kids got just a little extra tv time? You are in for a thrilling ride! Jan 29, Sandra Love rated it it was amazing.

All Things Book-Review https: This book was very interesting and intriguing, Becky and Matt were so adorable together. I felt like their relationship was believable and real. At first she tries to run away from him, making excuses so she didn't have to be with him. Some parts had me laughing so hard. Not because I hit my head against a swimming pool wall, and got rescued by a Mr Chocolate Voice, but rather in her believable struggles with life and love. When Becky starts a new job, she discovers Mr Delicious himself is her boss. Despite the immediate attraction she feels for him, she's determined not to fall for her boss. Of course she does. Mishaps and misunderstandings ensue with plenty of laugh out loud moments.

The author A well-written and witty debut! The author has done a fantastic job of creating two-dimensional characters. I especially enjoyed the character of her roommate, Jim. Heat of the Moment - Asia - With lyrics

This is a great fun read, about a couple who should obviously be together but can't quite get there. I hesitate to use the word 'root' but you are on the side of Becky and Matt from the start. They are decent, flawed - in other words real - human beings, as are the rest of the supporting cast. The story features spoiled sisters, Malteser tossing, high rise window cl This is my friend, Maggie, who manages to write really great chick lit while balancing more demands in her life than anyone I know!

The story features spoiled sisters, Malteser tossing, high rise window cleaning and a cat. Oh, and romance and a bit of raunch, too: Le Page does a fabulous job of delivering real characters, with real fears. I loved that Becky is faced with true to life situations that in my misspent younger days, I too faced. The hero, Matt, was worthy of hero status and I totally related to trying to ignore the relationship developing between them because he was her boss.

I look forward to more books by this author. This book was a refreshing change from so many romance books that I have read recently. The author presents the reader with a lovable heroine that is accepting of the fact that they are not perfect; which really helped me relate to them.

This book takes the reader on a journey toward love that has quite a few pit stops along the way, but it is more than that. You are also given a journey towards self discovery. I have to say for a debut novel Ms Le Page did an excellent job.

I would have given 3. I found myself getting really involved with Becky and Matt and almost getting mad at Becky at times for her choices and for putting herself in some interesting situations and then not handling them very well. By the end of the book I was rooting for her.
